ERNEST DOTY (CBS)
Ernest Doty is by far my favorite Bay Area graffiti/street artist. With his unique style and amazing talent it is easy to see why his work is in such high demand. He is also one of the most humble and nice people you could ever hope to meet.
I have been lucky enough to see him paint a few times now. It is amazing to see what Ernest can do with a few cans and a wall. If you have driven through West Oakland, odds are you have seen his art. He has been commissioned to paint many murals in the area by home owners and businesses. His work has even made it’s way on to a few box trucks as well. The response from people who live in the areas he has done murals in is a testament to his talent. I’ve seen people walking by or driving past stop dead in their tracks, just so they could thank him for beautifying their neighborhood.
In addition to his mural skills, Ernest is an accomplished fine artist with many shows under his belt. His work often uses found objects as a canvas like wood pallets, sheet metal and even a boat! If you are interested he takes commissions and can be reached via his facebook page linked below.
From beasts, to birds, multi eyed humanoids and more, Ernest Doty just keeps painting. Can’t wait to see what he does next!
